Visting Hours (COVID-19)

Effective November 12, 2020, there will be no visiting hours until further notice in order to keep our patients, staff, and community safe.

We understand the hardship this creates for patients and visitors alike. However, it is important that we limit the traffic on campus in order to control the spread of the coronavirus.

The number of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 is surging throughout New Jersey, particularly in Essex County. We have seen the number of patients admitted to Saint Michael's with COVID-19` increase daily.

Patients coming to Saint Michael's for an elective procedure may be accompanied by one escort. Escorts will wait in a designated area of the hospital while the patient receives treatment. Patient escorts are required to wear masks while on our campus.

One parent will be allowed to remain with pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.

This policy will be reassessed on a regular basis. We will restore regular visiting hours as soon as possible.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and understanding.
